Tahini Brownies

I'm not much of a chocolate dessert person but oh.my.god. these brownies are insanely good. They're ooey-gooey goodness and have just the right amount of sweetness while still keeping that earthy flavour of the tahini. The brownies are grain-free and drizzled with chocolate, they're too good to be true!

Give them a go, they're a little more complicated that other recipes but SO worth it! What you need is an 8" X 8" pan, parchment paper, and two mixing bowls.


Ingredients (Brownies)

1 cup tahini

1/3 cup maple syrup

1/2 cup coconut sugar

2 eggs

1 tsp vanilla extract

1 cup cocoa powder

1/2 tsp baking powder

1/8 tsp salt

1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips

**OPTION: Add 1/4 cup walnuts

Ingredients (Drizzle)

2 tbsp semisweet chocolate chips

1/4 tsp coconut oil

  1. Preheat oven to 350F

  2. Mix tahini, maple syrup, coconut sugar, eggs and vanilla extract until smooth.

  3. Slowly add the coconut flour, cocoa powder, baking powder and salt. Continue mixing by hand until smooth. The batter should be super gooey.

  4. Fold in chocolate chips (and walnuts).

  5. In an 8" X 8" pan thats lined with parchment paper, or greased with coconut oil. Pour gooey batter into the pan and spread to even out the brownie.

  6. Bake in the oven for 25-30 mins, until a toothpick comes out clean.

  7. For the drizzle, in the small microwave safe bowl, mix the coconut oil and chocolate chips together and warm in the microwave for 20 seconds.

  8. Mix until smooth.

  9. Drizzle the chocolate over the cooled brownies and ENJOY! I also sprinkled some sesame seeds to add that little extra favour!!
